In the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit to participate in the trilateral summit, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The talks were held in a one-on-one format and then continued in an expanded format with the participation of delegations from both countries. The parties noted that effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is based on a solid foundation of friendship and political will to increase cooperation in all areas.
The meeting participants noted with satisfaction that in recent years, bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new level.
A trilateral summit involving Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will be held in Avaza on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea on Friday. The agenda includes issues of developing and deepening multilateral cooperation in trade and economic, transport and communications, energy and humanitarian spheres. Following the summit, a number of joint documents are planned to be signed.
