Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and US Secretary of State, Acting Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs Marco Rubio held talks in Washington. The parties discussed issues of economic cooperation, as well as security in Central Asia. This was reported by Deputy Head of the Press Service of the US State Department Tommy Pigott.
As noted by the representative of the US State Department, during the meeting, Secretary of State Rubio reaffirmed the US commitment to continue working with Turkmenistan to expand economic and trade ties.
Particular attention was paid to issues of promoting regional integration through the C5+1 diplomatic platform, as well as strengthening regional security, Pigott emphasized.
