On August 19, the regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth was held at the CIS headquarters in Minsk.
Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the CIS Nazarguly Shagulyev took part in the meeting as co-chairman of the Council.
At the meeting, the permanent representatives formed draft agendas for the next meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Heads of Government and the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, as reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held on September 29 in Minsk. The heads of delegations will consider a wide range of topics, including scientific and technological cooperation, issues of digitalization of various sectors of the economy, and discuss the strategy for economic development of the CIS for the next five years.
The next meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of State of the CIS will be held on October 9 and 10 in Dushanbe. It is expected that the summit will include an exchange of views on cooperation within the Commonwealth and will consider the work of the Human Rights Commission in terms of developing cooperation in the human rights sphere.
In addition, the heads of state will be asked to adopt a number of joint statements – in connection with the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations, and on law enforcement issues.
The next meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth is planned to take place on September 16, the source notes.
