Workers of the Baherden Art Carpet Weaving Enterprise of the State Association "Türkmenhaly" made a unique round carpet dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" reports.
Round carpets are much more difficult to make than traditional rectangular or square shapes due to the labor-intensive technology of rounding the border. However, such products provide ample opportunities for decorating the interiors of Turkmen national yurts.
The new carpet is made in a classic design with a central medallion-shaped göl surrounded by ornaments of various shapes and sizes. The background of the product is white, which symbolizes happiness and well-being in Turkmen culture. The surface of the carpet is distinguished by its depth, velvetiness and shimmering shine.
The Baherden enterprise has repeatedly received recognition for its work, including the award of the creative competition of the President of Turkmenistan "Türkmeniň Altyn asyry". Turkmen carpets have been known since ancient times and are highly valued throughout the world for their unrivaled quality and artistic value.
