The Turkmen delegation took part in a regional seminar on mutual exchange of information on the cryosphere, which was held on Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan from August 6 to 8. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The seminar was attended by specialists and scientists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan working in the fields of education, science, agriculture and water management, environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, as well as representatives of international organizations dealing with ecology and environmental protection.

The regional workshop was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening the resilience of Central Asian countries by promoting regional cooperation in assessing nival-glacial systems for developing integrated methods for sustainable development and adaptation to climate change”, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), UNDP and UNESCO.
Participants discussed the draft "Roadmap for Strengthening Higher Education in the Cryosphere in Central Asian Countries", namely the action plan to be implemented in the educational sphere. Also, discussions of the draft National Action Program and the goals of the "Cryosphere Vision 2050" took place in small groups.

On the third day of the regional seminar, a study tour was organized for the participants to the international mountain station "Tien Shan" and the meteorological station "Chong Kyzyl Suu", located at an altitude of 2560 meters above sea level. Here they got acquainted with the continuous research work of local and foreign scientists and specialists in studying the Earth's cryosphere, which is carried out around the clock.
