On August 7, the management of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashy held talks with a delegation of the State Secretariat for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. This was reported on the website tmrl.gov.tm.
The meeting was held in the city of Turkmenbashy within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and exchanged experience in the field of port infrastructure.
The Austrian side was provided with detailed information about the capabilities of the Turkmenbashy International Port, including its modern technical equipment, terminal capacities, container services and multimodal cargo transportation. The delegation members also visited the port territory, where they got acquainted with its logistics and administrative infrastructure on the spot.
During the negotiations, ways of expanding international cargo transportation along the Europe-Asia routes through the territory of Turkmenistan, strengthening the interconnectivity of transport corridors, as well as developing bilateral cooperation in the field of logistics and sustainable transport were discussed.
The parties noted the relevance of cooperation in such areas as digitalization, “green” energy and sustainable transport solutions.
Mutual interest in developing a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership was expressed, the source notes.
