Counselor of the Japanese Embassy Hosaka Hideki, Acting Chargé d'Affaires of Japan in Turkmenistan, visited the libraries of Mary and Lebap velayats to hand over literature within the framework of an international project, the embassy's social media page reported.
During the visit, the Japanese side presented 150 books donated under the “READ JAPAN PROJECT” program. This initiative is aimed at disseminating knowledge about Japanese culture and literature among the residents of Turkmenistan.
The libraries visited by the Japanese diplomat are multifunctional cultural centers. They have exhibition halls displaying ancient documents found in the regions, as well as observatories with telescopes. Such infrastructure provides local residents with ample opportunities for education and cultural development.
Representatives of the Japanese side expressed hope that the donated literature will help residents of Turkmenistan become more deeply acquainted with Japanese culture and traditions.
