President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali Abdoulaye Maiga. The talks took place in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, Turkmenistan attaches great importance in its foreign policy to the development of equal and mutually beneficial relations with all countries, including African states. In this regard, the head of state confirmed his readiness to expand cooperation with the Republic of Mali in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
As noted, the importance of cooperation with African states is growing for Turkmenistan. The development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Mali creates great opportunities for the introduction of innovations in agriculture, effective management of water resources, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the education and professional training systems.
The interlocutors also noted the existence of mutually beneficial opportunities for exchanging experience in economics, energy, agriculture, education, healthcare and scientific research systems.
At the same time, the importance of developing cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries and cooperation in organizing joint events in the fields of culture and art was emphasized.
Following the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali Abdoulaye Maiga expressed confidence that relations will develop in accordance with mutual interests, and wished each other good health, prosperity and success in their government activities.
