President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Robina Nabbanja, who arrived to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the head of the government of the Republic of Uganda expressed satisfaction with the hospitable reception on Turkmen soil, noting that holding a high-level representative forum in Turkmenistan demonstrates the country's special attention to ensuring sustainable development at the international level and strengthening interrelations.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan shows great interest in developing relations with countries in the African region and is ready to consider the possibility of establishing cooperation with the Republic of Uganda in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy, agricultural, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
“We support the intensification of multilateral cooperation, in particular, within the framework of such authoritative international organizations as the UN,” the President of Turkmenistan said. He also noted that during the visit there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with Turkmenistan’s achievements in the energy, gas chemical and other industrial sectors.
The head of state stated Turkmenistan’s readiness to support Uganda’s specific proposals to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the future.
