In the county of Redcar and Cleveland in northern England, pest control specialists have discovered a rat measuring 56 cm in length, which is the largest ever recorded in the UK, the British publication The Telegraph reports.
A giant rodent has been caught in a residential building. Conservative Party officials have blamed the large pests on Labour-controlled local authorities for failing to tackle the rodent population.
Previously, similar problems with rat infestations were recorded in Birmingham, where the cause was the accumulated rubbish heaps against the backdrop of a long-term strike by utility workers.
