Hockey player Alexander Ovechkin has signed a three-year contract with "Yandex" to act as an ambassador for its services. The company itself announced this.
Under the agreement, the athlete will advertise the projects of "Kinopoisk", "Yandex Go", "Yandex Food", "Yandex Market", "Yandex Pay" and smart devices with the voice assistant Alice. The company does not disclose the amount of the contract.
In addition, "Kinopoisk" has acquired the rights to show a documentary about Ovechkin in Russia and Belarus, which is already being filmed in the United States. "Yandex's" production center, "Plus Studio", has also acquired the rights to create its own film or series based on the hockey player's biography.
Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005 as part of the "Washington Capitals". In April 2025, the Russian forward set a historic record, surpassing hockey legend Wayne Gretzky in the number of goals in the league's regular championships - 895 against 894. The Canadian's previous record stood for 26 years, since 1999.
