President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Turkmenistan on August 4-5 on a working visit at the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This was reported by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. The event will be held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.
The conference will also be attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of foreign states and governments, and heads of international and regional organizations.
The agenda includes issues of developing international cooperation in the areas of strengthening transport connectivity and trade facilitation, economic transformation, increasing resilience to climate change and environmental challenges, and achieving progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference is expected to result in the adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and Action Programme.
During his stay in Turkmenistan, Mirziyoyev will also take part in an event dedicated to the preparation of the seventh consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and will hold a number of bilateral talks, his press service added.
