Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkmenistan Apirat Sugondhabhirom (with residence in Ankara), who is completing his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat.
The parties assessed the current level of development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The Turkmen side emphasized Thailand's contribution to the preparation for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled to be held in the coming days in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.
An exchange of views also took place regarding the prospects for developing cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian areas. The Ambassador expressed his country's interest in establishing inter-university cooperation with Turkmenistan.
