In the pond farm ES Elin balyk they are preparing to present a product premiere to their compatriots in the fall: their own grown giant Rosenberg king prawns.
It is in the fall that the seven-month period of growing the first batch of shrimp ends, and although a full calculation of the costs of the ongoing process has not been carried out, the company plans to supply the product to the domestic market at reasonable prices, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The initial biomaterial was brought from Thailand - small larvae of 3-4 millimeters. Now the nursery has a million individuals, each the size of a palm. Water is taken from the Karakum river, undergoes preparation, clarification, saturation with microelements. Feed mixtures are prepared independently, there is a constant recording of the state of the livestock, verification of actions, exchange of opinions with colleagues in other countries.
Ichthyologists, nutritionists and veterinarians of the enterprise are confident that the trial experiment will be successful. The plans for the future include developing the local market and entering export lines.
Adult specimens of Rosenberg shrimp are gray-blue in color and grow up to 30 centimeters, the average weight is 250 grams, the meat is included in the list of dietary food, and is in demand on the world market among gourmets, nutritionists and restaurateurs.
Recently, the company's specialists made a familiarization trip to Iran, where they inspected the engineering automatic systems of an industrial-level fish farming complex.
The company also grows exotic fish species - tilapia, African catfish, sturgeon - purchasing their caviar in Hungary and Thailand.
Earlier we reported that a shrimp farm was launched in Turkmenistan.
