Positive dynamics of transit transportation has been recorded between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. This was reported by participants of the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation, which was held in Baku, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The negotiations were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev and Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov.
The parties noted the successful development of bilateral cooperation in the transport sector and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in this area. They also discussed prospects for expanding partnership in the field of communications.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed providing for deepening cooperation in various economic sectors. The next meeting within the commission will be held in Ashgabat.
The Turkmen-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation is the main mechanism for coordinating bilateral economic cooperation between the two states.
