In Dashoguz velayat, thanks to good organization of the work, the following were planted in the appropriate timeframes: mung bean on 7300 hectares, noiba on 410 hectares, and sesame on 560 hectares.
As reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, farmers from Akdepe, Kunyaurgench and Boldumsaz etraps and S. Turkmenbashy etrap are among the major producers of grain legumes and oilseeds in the velayat.
In Akdepe etrap, more land was allocated for these crops than in other etraps of the region. Thus, this year it is planned to harvest over two and a half thousand tons of mung beans, 180 tons of noiba and 135 tons of sesame.
The average yield of mung bean and noiba in the velayat annually reaches 15 centners per hectare, sesame 10 centners per hectare. It is noteworthy that the combination of legumes with other crops helps to increase agricultural and soil biodiversity.
The region's farmers have extensive experience in cultivating this important agricultural product. Its skillful combination with modern scientific recommendations allows them to achieve high results every year, the source notes.
