Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 247 convicts on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
During a meeting of the country's cabinet, the chairman of the Commission for the preparation of proposals on citizenship and pardons under the President of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyev reported on the results of the department's work. After hearing the report, the head of state signed a decree on pardoning 247 citizens on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The President instructed the Chairman of the Commission, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to carry out the necessary work to release convicted persons from places of detention and return them to their families in the near future.
The President of Turkmenistan wished the pardoned citizens to work conscientiously, sincerely serve the Fatherland and live, enjoying the fruits of honest labor.
