Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with the crash of the An-24 passenger plane and the deaths of citizens in the Amur Region, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
“On behalf of the people and government of the country, as well as on his own behalf, the President of Turkmenistan conveyed words of deep sympathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims,” the statement said.
The An-24 passenger plane of “Angara” Airlines crashed after a second approach to land at Tynda Airport in the Amur Region. According to various sources, there were 46 to 49 people on board, including the crew. All people on board died.
A three-day mourning has been declared in the Amur Region in connection with the plane crash.
