President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural work, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahalliyev reported on the current pace of seasonal work in the country's agricultural sector. In particular, the discussion focused on measures to prepare for the laying of the wheat harvest for next year. Plowing and leveling are being carried out in the fields allocated for sowing, and preparation of equipment and high-quality seed grain continues.
Inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilization, irrigation and pinching are carried out in the areas sown with cotton. In the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, agrotechnical care is carried out for rice crops, and in the Mary velayat - for sugar beet crops.
Plowing and planning are carried out in fields intended for planting potatoes, vegetables, melons and other food crops. These measures are aimed at ensuring completion of sowing within the established agrotechnical timeframes.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector as a basic industry that ensures food abundance in the domestic market. The head of state noted the need for further development of the industry through the expansion of innovation and efficient use of resources. The Deputy Prime Minister was given relevant instructions.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew special attention to the need to implement agrotechnical measures for cotton care in accordance with the norms and deadlines, including inter-row cultivation, pinching, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers, watering and pest control.
The President of Turkmenistan ordered to ensure timely settlements between cotton and grain producers and service companies and departments. It was also instructed to monitor plowing and leveling of areas after harvesting, to ensure the preparation of seeders and other equipment for sowing winter wheat and planting winter potatoes and vegetable crops.
Separate instructions concerned the care of rice crops in the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, control over the planting of sugar beets in the Mary velayat, as well as the pace of construction of social and industrial infrastructure facilities in the regions.
