Panic caused by a ten-year-old girl screaming at the sight of an insect triggered a stampede at a concert by American singer Beyonce. As a result of the incident, 11 people were taken to hospitals in the city, The New York Post reports.
The incident unfolded quickly: a frightened child screamed when he saw a large bug, which caused panic among the spectators. The crowd rushed to the escalator, which first accelerated and then suddenly stopped, causing people to fall on top of each other.
Eyewitnesses report a crowd of at least 20 people who were crushed as a result of the escalator accident. The reasons for the technical malfunction of the equipment have not been established.
The incident occurred a few hours after the theft from the official car of the artist's team members. The thieves stole two suitcases with unreleased Beyonce songs, tour plans and confidential information, as well as personal items worth over a thousand dollars.
