Portuguese specialist Carlos Queiroz has taken charge of the Omani national football team, the country's association's press service reported.
Queiroz left his post as head coach of the Qatar national team in December 2023. Under his leadership, the team played 12 matches, winning five, drawing twice and losing five times.
Before that, the Portuguese worked with the Iranian national team from 2011 to 2019, and then returned to the coaching post in September 2022, before the start of the World Cup.
Previously, he headed the national teams of Egypt, Colombia, South Africa, Portugal and the UAE, and at club level he managed the Portuguese "Sporting" and the Spanish "Real".
