Uzbekistan has decided on its representative at the international song contest "Intervision 2025". The country will be represented by singer Shokhrukh Ganiev, the press service of the contest organizers reported.

Shokhrukh Ganiev is a graduate of the Fergana Music College, where he specialized in the study of maqam, a classical branch of the Uzbek musical tradition. In addition to his concert activities, the artist is actively involved in teaching.

The singer has repeatedly won prizes at patriotic competitions in Uzbekistan. A bright page in his career was his victory in the international project "The Voice" in Uzbekistan in 2024.

The final of the International Music Contest "Intervision" will take place on September 20 in Moscow. Participation has been confirmed by 20 countries, including the BRICS countries, the CIS, as well as representatives of Latin America and the Middle East.

Each country independently selects one performer or group to participate. The winner will be determined by an international jury of music experts from the participating countries by voting.

The Intervision contest debuted in 1960 under the auspices of the International Organization of Radio and Television. Throughout its history, about 30 countries have participated in it, including the USSR, Poland, Hungary, Cuba and other states. From 1977 to 1980, the contest was held in the Polish city of Sopot, and in 1983 – simultaneously in several cities, including Moscow and Warsaw.
