Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad of the Republic of Niger Bakary Yaou Sangaré.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the talks the ministers discussed the possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest to both countries.
The parties noted the need to establish regular contacts between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Niger. The similarity of the two states' approaches to issues on the international agenda was also emphasized.
A separate topic of the negotiations was preparation for the third Conference of Landlocked Countries, which will be held in Turkmenistan in August of this year.
