Driverless Trucks Take to the Roads of Moscow Region

The Central Ring Road (TsKAD) has officially launched fully autonomous truck traffic, RIA Novosti reports.

This project continues the development of unmanned technologies in Russia. Earlier, in June 2023, highly automated trucks began running on the M-11 Neva highway. Plans also include launching unmanned vehicles on the M-12 Vostok in 2026.

Driverless trucks from two manufacturers are used on the road – KamAZ and Navio (formerly known as SberAutoTech).

To date, 67 driverless vehicles have been approved for transportation. They have already covered more than 7.2 million kilometers and transported over 800 thousand cubic meters of cargo. By the end of this year, the fleet of autonomous trucks in Russia is expected to increase to 100 units.
