Brazilian doctors saved the life of 14-year-old Vitor Hugo Ferreira Duarte, who was attacked by bees. Traces of more than 4,500 bee stings were found on the teenager’s body, pravilamag.ru reports with reference to Metropoles.
The tragic Incident occurred during a ball game near the school where Vitor studies. The teenager accidentally touched a beehive, provoking an attack by the angry insects. Attempts by local residents to drive away the bees with fire only worsened the situation. Doctors who arrived at the scene found the boy literally covered in bees.
The victim was urgently hospitalized in intensive care, where he was sedated and intubated. According to relatives, despite serious kidney damage due to a large dose of bee venom, Vitor’s condition is gradually stabilizing. Now the teenager can breathe on his own, although the need for further use of a ventilator is not excluded.
