Representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan took part in the international conference on assessing greenhouse gas emissions using the GOSAT satellite, which was held on February 3-4 in Tokyo.

Deputy Head of the Department for Coordination of International Environmental Cooperation and Projects of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Mergen Yusupov made a report on the key areas of the state environmental policy of Turkmenistan, as well as on the activities implemented in accordance with the National Strategy of Turkmenistan on Climate Change. In his speech, he noted the measures taken by the country in the field of climate change and the international initiatives put forward by the esteemed President of Turkmenistan.
On the sidelines of the conference, representatives of Turkmenistan had the opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the possibilities of bilateral cooperation with participants from Central Asian countries, Japan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia.
