The “Arkadag” football club from Turkmenistan's first smart city extended its impressive winning streak by beating “Ashgabat” 8:1 in the 5th round match of the Turkmenistan Championship. This victory was the 35th in a row for the team in all tournaments.
“Arkadag's” unbeaten streak began in mid-April last year, when the debutant of the Major League of Turkmenistan defeated “Merv” with a score of 2:1 in the 1st round.
Let us remind that the “Arkadag” football club won the championship title and the national Cup in 2023. In the championship of Turkmenistan, the team representing the city of national importance of the same name won all 24 official matches. In addition, Vladimir Bayramov’s team won all 7 official matches of the Turkmenistan Cup, including the final match against “Ahal” (3:0).
After 5 rounds of the 2024 Turkmenistan Championship, in which “Arkadag” played 4 matches, the current champion of the country scored 12 points and leads the standings.
