Football players of the Uzbekistan national team played a 1:1 draw with the Australian team in the third round of the Asian Cup. This result allowed the Uzbek team to guarantee itself a place in the playoffs of the tournament taking place in Qatar.
The only goal for Uzbekistan was scored by Azizbek Turgunbayev in the 79th minute of the match. The Australians opened the scoring through Martin Boyle's penalty in first-half stoppage time.
In another match of Group B, the Syrian team beat the Indian team with a score of 1:0. Despite the draw, the Australian team took first place with 7 points. Uzbekistan finished second with 5 points.
