President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2024 through a digital system. Issues of state life were put on the agenda, TDH reports.

The first to make a report was the Chairman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova. She informed about the work to improve national legislation. As reported, the preparation of new editions of the Civil Code and the laws “On Energy Saving and Efficient Use of Energy”, “On Hydrometeorological Activities”, as well as amendments to a number of existing laws, continues.

At the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan, deputies of the Mejlis conducted practical classes for students of advanced training courses to consolidate their theoretical knowledge.

In addition, information was presented on measures to strengthen interaction with the parliaments of foreign countries and authoritative international organizations. Mejlis deputies took part in a working meeting with consultants from the Asian Development Bank and representatives of the World Trade Organization. It discussed the preparation of a Memorandum on the regulation of foreign trade in Turkmenistan. The deputies also participated in a seminar of the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Turkmenistan on the topic of introducing the norms of international humanitarian law into national legislation.

People's representatives actively explain the goals of state policy, progressive reforms, the country's achievements, adopted laws, as well as the political and social significance of the 2024 motto “The Fount of Reason of Magtymguly Fragi.”

Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of developing new legal documents that meet modern requirements. The head of state emphasized that the laws adopted must reflect the country's development goals.

Then the vice-premiers and the general director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers presented reports on the work done in the areas under their supervision, activities for the further development of industries, the implementation of previously set tasks, upcoming events in relevant areas and preparations for them.

The reports also spoke about the work done to prepare departmental activity plans for 2024 in relevant sectors.

In addition, the head of state was reported on the results of the working trip of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the United Arab Emirates on January 4-5 this year.

After listening to the reports, the head of state gave specific instructions to the relevant leaders on issues related to the ongoing work in various spheres of public life and sectors of the national economy, international relations, upcoming events and tasks for the further development of industries.

A number of other important issues of public life were also considered at the meeting and appropriate decisions were made.

Summing up the results of the government meeting held through the digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants good health, family well-being and success in work for the prosperity of the country.
