President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having flown over by helicopter this morning, got acquainted with the progress of work in Ashgabat and its environs. This was reported by the Watan news program.
During the flight, on the way from the city of Arkadag to Ashgabat, the head of state examined the Nisa fortress, which is the center of the Parthian state and a witness to the great past of the Turkmen people.
Nisa is one of the main attractions of the country. In 2007, the fortress was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that appropriate restoration work is regularly carried out here, which is of particular importance in preserving for future generations information about the powerful states created by the Turkmen people throughout history.
The head of state was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov, who oversees the industrial and construction complex.
