Scientists from the University of Nottingham have developed a spray, the composition of which permits you to completely destroy glioblastoma cells, one of the most aggressive types of brain cancer, writes Vc.ru.

The spray contains bio-nanoantennas that literally force cancer cells to “commit suicide”. Bio-nanoantennas are special molecules that can change cells using quantum signaling and introduce changes in cell biology at the quantum level.

Quantum technology for the treatment of glioblastoma is based on the use of gold nanoparticles coated with redox molecules. “We call them “bio-nanoantennas” because they convert an electric field into a biological signaling event, which then regulates cell functions, such as programmed cell death”, explained one of the authors of the invention.

Scientists describe that when a spray is sprayed into the tumor site, bio-nanoatenes are absorbed by tumor cells, after which an electric field is applied. It changes the redox state of the protein and causes the cancer cells to activate their own programmed death, essentially causing them to “commit suicide”.

Moreover, this effect applies only to malignant cells, without affecting healthy ones.
