Today, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Independence Monument.
Festive celebrations began in the capital's National Independence Park.
The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was played. The President of the country laid a wreath at the memorial plaque installed in front of the entrance to the memorial complex.
Following the head of state, wreaths and bouquets of flowers were laid by members of the Government, leaders and representatives of the Halk Maslahaty, military personnel, hyakims of velayats and the capital, representatives of public organizations, ministries and departments, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, respected elders, students, and also numerous residents of Ashgabat.
Foreign guests who arrived in Ashgabat for the celebrations on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan also paid tribute to the national shrines of the Turkmen people, the MIC reports.
