Students of the Kazakh-British Technical University were the first in the country to receive diplomas in the form of NFT, Tengri News writes.

In 2023, 572 bachelor's and 172 master's students graduated from the university. The solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas in the form of non-fungible NFT tokens was attended by the heads of the largest Kazakhstani companies, representatives of university partners, and industrial enterprises.

NFT diplomas received by students of the Kazakh-British Technical University became the first case of using blockchain technologies in the field of education. The system was developed by the university students themselves. Such a diploma cannot be forged and its authenticity is easily confirmed by the system itself.

According to the rector of the university Maratbek Gabdullin, most of the university graduates with NFT diplomas have already received job offers in the largest oil and gas, consulting, IT companies in Kazakhstan and other countries.

KBTU provides training in such specialties as energy and oil and gas industry, geology, engineering, IT technologies, business, international economics, applied mathematics, chemical engineering, natural and social sciences. This is the first university among the CIS countries that has international ABET accreditation for all IT educational programs, and the only one in Central Asia that graduates in ship management in accordance with international certificates.
