A five-day seminar on professional ethics was held for 25 specialists from the personnel departments of the customs service of Turkmenistan.
The seminar was held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan under the auspices of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and with the financial support of USAID.
Among the participants of the seminar were employees from the Central Office and velayats.
The workshop was led by WCO experts and the Deputy Superintendent of Sri Lankan Customs.
The purpose of the training was to support the customs of Turkmenistan to further improve their strategies for developing integrity in customs, fulfilling international obligations in the field of combating corruption and raising awareness of the instruments of the WCO in the field of integrity in the customs authorities.
The experts introduced the participants to the latest trends in the fight against corruption, best practices of good faith. Separately, the topic of the implementation of the revised Arusha Declaration on good governance and integrity in the customs authorities was considered, reports the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
