President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations to the President of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states, noting the interest of Turkmenistan in expanding bilateral ties.
“Relations between our states are based on mutual respect, equality and mutual trust, the head of state noted, emphasizing that Turkmenistan is interested in expanding bilateral ties, and also expressed confidence that, thanks to joint efforts, cooperation between our countries will continue to develop in the interests of both peoples”, - says the message published in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
In addition, Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished President Alexander Lukashenko good health, happiness and new successes in his work, and peace, further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of the Republic of Belarus.
Let us note that diplomatic relations between the countries were established on January 21, 1993. The Embassy of Turkmenistan opened in October 1995 in Minsk, and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan opened in 2002 in Ashgabat.
