Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today.

According to the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television, during the conversation, the results of the first Inter-Parliamentary Forum and the meeting of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian countries and Russia were discussed, which took place in Ashgabat on May 12-13 this year.

According to the Uzbek leader, such regular mutual contacts at the highest and other levels are a clear indicator of mutual trust and respect, which gives a powerful incentive for the progressive development of interstate relations.

According to the President of Uzbekistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's proposals aimed at maintaining universal peace and security are in demand in the field of Inter-Parliamentary Regional cooperation.

In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the congratulations, stressing that Turkmenistan highly appreciates bilateral relations with the fraternal Republic of Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with the close neighbor and reliable partner, with which " "much connects and has much in common."

The interlocutors confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek ties in trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural fields, inter-parliamentary relations and expressed firm conviction that cooperation based on centuries-old ties of friendship and good-neighborliness will continue developing successfully and strengthening for the benefit of our fraternal peoples.
