The third consultative meeting of the presidents of Central Asian countries, which was supposed to be hold in Kyrgyzstan, has postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was state by the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov in an interview with the Newspapers "Yangi Yzbekiston" and "Pravda Vostoka".

The Minister also said that next year the summit might held in Turkmenistan. On October 8, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed holding a Consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian States in 2021 in Ashgabat during a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"As a co - chair of the Advisory Council, we fully support this proposal of Turkmenistan and hope to hold the next Central Asian consultative summit with a broad and meaningful program," Kamilov said.

According to the Minister, multilateral cooperation is a priority for all five Central Asian States, and the postponement of the summit does not mean that the countries will slow down in this direction.

The first summit of the heads of state of Central Asia was hold in 2018 in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), and the second – in 2019 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
