"The significance of Turkmenistan's neutral status in the development of international cooperation in the field of cultural heritage research" is the theme of the webinar organized by the National administration of Turkmenistan for the protection, study and restoration of historical and cultural monuments.

The meeting was attended by archaeologists from the UK, Russia, USA, Italy, Spain and France, who have been working on scientific expeditions in Turkmenistan for many years.

As noted during the webinar, Turkmenistan has an original model of the monument protection system. Local organizations subordinate to the National administration are state historical and cultural reserves, including "Nisa", "Koneurgench", "Ancient Merv", "Ancient Dehistan", "Kerki", "Abiverd", "Old Sarakhs" and "Gokdepe fortress".

In order to study the national historical and cultural heritage in depth, our state closely cooperates with leading scientific centers in many countries of the world.

During the meeting, the Deputy Director of the Institute of history of material culture Russian Academy of Sciences Natalya Solovyova told about a long-term Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the study of Eneolithic monument Yylgynly-Depe, located on the territory of Akhal velayat. Dr. Barbara Cerazette from the University of Bologna, dedicated his speech to the thirty years of the Italian-Turkmen studies in the ancient Delta of the Murgab river.

Doctor of historical Sciences Nadezhda Dubova told about the results of joint Turkmen-Russian research conducted in recent years at Gonur-depe. Professor Linnie Rose presented a Turkmen-American project to Study monuments on the territory of ancient Margiana. Dr. Julio Bendezu-Sarmiento and Dr. Joanna Luillier called their joint report "Ulug-Depe – the cradle of Central Asian civilization: studies of the Franco-Turkmen archaeological expedition".

Professor Carlo Lippolis reported on the results of the 2019 research of the Turkmen-Italian archaeological expedition to the Old Nisa settlement. Dr. Paul Wordstworth from Oxford and Dr. Martina Rugiadi from the Metropolitan Museum of art in New York spoke about the first results of international cooperation on the medieval settlements of Dandanakan and Kushmeyhan in the Mary province.

Dr. Jose Luis Blesa spoke about the Turkmen-Spanish archaeological research in the territory of Dehistan.

Tim Williams, Professor of the silk road Department at University College London, dedicated his speech to international cooperation in creating an electronic database of historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan.

The experience of the past years shows a positive dynamic in the development of international cooperation on the preservation and study of historical and cultural monuments between Turkmenistan and international organizations in this field, as well as with major scientific centers.

In parallel with the video conference held at the capital's Museum of fine arts, an exhibition of finds discovered by researchers on various monuments of our country was organized, the State news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
