Images of various football players were painted on the building of the “Maksat” football arena in Kazan. This was reported in the press service of the city hall.

The object depicts legends of Kazan football — Turkmen coach Kurban Berdyev, Soviet specialist Nikolai Sentyabrev and Turkish football player Gokdeniz Karadeniz. The facade of the arena is also decorated with portraits of other outstanding Players-Lev Yashin, Galimzyan Khusainov, Viktor Kolotov, Vagiz Hidiyatullin, Rinat Dasayev and Lionel Messi. 

Ilsur Metshin, the mayor of Kazan, told about the principle of choosing those whose images will be applied to the building. According to the mayor, football veterans, coaches of children's sports schools and the football community were interviewed for this purpose.

Construction of a sports facility in the capital of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation began in December 2019 and is now coming to an end. At the moment, the work is completed by 90%. The sports facility is built using the most modern technologies. The football field is covered with high-quality and wear-resistant material with a high imitation of grass. In total, there will be four such football arenas in Tatarstan.

Kurban Berdyev headed “Rubin” Kazan from 2001 to 2013. under his leadership, the team from Tatarstan won the Russian championship twice and won the national Cup once. In 2014, the specialist took charge of Rostov, with which he reached the Champions League and won silver, and at the end of the 2016/17 season, he left the club and returned to “Rubin”. At the end of the 2019 season, the specialist left the Kazan club.
