Today, the Ministry of Finance and economy of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting in the format of a videoconference to discuss the regional program "EU-Central Asia on the rule of law".

The event was attended by representatives of a number of ministries and departments from the Turkmen side, including the Ministry of foreign Affairs, internal Affairs, Finance and economy of Turkmenistan, from the European side - representatives of the European Union in Turkmenistan and specialists of the project team "Transparency and action against economic crimes in Central Asia".

The purpose of the event is to familiarize Turkmen partners with the “EU-Central Asia regional program on the rule of law”, as well as its main component “Promoting transparency and combating economic crimes in Central Asia”.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the prospects of the project, its goals and objectives, as well as familiarized themselves with the action plan.

Such areas as the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, corporate governance and compliance with business standards are important components of joint projects, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
