In Turkey culminated in the traditional international karate tournament – the Cup of the Bosporus. Turkmen athletes have won 14 awards in different age categories.

The Champions were Vadim Rudsky (kata, up to 8 years), Ihlas Annagurbanov (kata, up to 10 years), Rovshen Ataev (Kumite, up to 35 kg), and Ogulgerek Kichenova (kumite, up to 53 kg). Two-won silver, and eight more karateka became the third.

In the team competition, Turkmenistan was third behind Turkey and Azerbaijan. A total of 1,418 (840 men and 578 women) karate players from 26 countries took to the tatami.
