Turkmen schoolchildren performed successfully at the World Robotics Championship

Turkmen schoolchildren (the OguzRobot team) performed successfully at the "FIRST Global Challenge 2026" robotics world championship in the Republic of Korea from October 7 to 10.

They won a silver medal in the "Skills Challenge" category (individual competition) and a bronze medal in the "Winning Alliance" category (team competition), reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

The team consisted of students from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 97—which offers in-depth study of foreign languages—namely Suhan Novbatov, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Aznavur Cholukov, Dayhan Gurbanov, and Arslan Babajiyev.

Turkmenistan’s national team was coached by Murat Sakhetgulyyev, a teacher at Specialized Educational Complex No. 1 in the city of Arkadag, and Davut Gurbanov, a student at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University.

This time, the FIRST Global Challenge focused on finding innovative solutions to combat wildfires (Igniting Innovation). Teams from 185 countries competed in the championship.
