The “Mukam” violin ensemble from Turkmenistan took part in the International Youth Orchestra Arts Week, which was held in Beijing from July 18 to 21.

The week brought together talented youth musical ensembles from around the world. Forum participants performed in various concerts, orchestral competitions, and participated in joint workshops and master classes led by renowned international conductors.

The event featured youth orchestras, ensembles, and conductors from Mexico, Austria, Bulgaria, Indonesia, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, and the People's Republic of China.

The “Mukam” ensemble's repertoire currently includes approximately 100 works by Turkmen and international composers. The group is led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Harold Neimark. The ensemble successfully performs at major venues across the country and celebrates Turkmen culture and art at international festivals.

On July 21, at a gala awards ceremony at the Beijing National Theater, the “Mukam” violin ensemble, comprised of students from the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory and talented students from the conservatory's special music boarding school, received the "Exemplary Orchestra" award. The ensemble was presented with a special diploma and a cup, according to the website of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
