The Swiss earned 7 points and topped the group. The Canadians finished second with 4 points. This marks the first time Canada has qualified for the playoffs in World Championship history.

In the Round of 32, Switzerland will face one of the teams that advances from its group in third place. The match will take place on July 3 in Vancouver. Canada will play the second-place team in group A on June 28 in Inglewood, USA. Teams from the Republic of Korea, the Czech Republic, and South Africa are vying for this spot.

The World Cup is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Forty-eight teams are participating in the tournament for the first time. The final will take place on July 19. Argentina is the reigning champion.
