Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Ahal velayat, where he launched the grain harvesting campaign, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
The President visited a wheat field belonging to the Gäwers farmers' association in Ak Bugday etrap. At the request of the field's tenant, D. Muhammetsahedov, Serdar Berdimuhamedov cut the first sheaf of wheat with the words "Bismilla," blessing the beginning of the harvest. Following this, combine harvesters began harvesting the crop.
During the conversation, the tenant described his working conditions to the head of state. He said he had been farming since 2012: half of the 28-hectare plot is devoted to cotton, while the remaining 14 hectares are planted with wheat, with an estimated yield of approximately 40 centners per hectare.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov toured an exhibition of fruits, vegetables, grains, and baked goods made from this year's wheat harvest.
Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev reported to the President on the progress of the harvest campaign. He stated that the harvest is currently underway in all regions of the country, using modern agricultural machinery.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep the grain harvesting campaign under constant review, emphasizing the importance of harvesting the crop without losses, its timely receipt, and proper storage.
At the end of the visit, the President presented gifts to the tenant, Muhammetsahedov.
