Potato harvesting has begun in northern Turkmenistan

In the Dashoguz velayat, farmers have begun harvesting potatoes, which were planted on 8800 hectares this year, reports Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

The "10 ýyl Abadanlyk" farmer association in Boldumsaz etrap was one of the first to begin harvesting potatoes, growing them on 345 hectares.

The "G. Atamedow" farmer association is growing potatoes on a slightly smaller area; however, they still plan to harvest up to 840 tons of potatoes.

The harvest is also being collected at a rapid pace in the S. Turkmenbashy etrap, where potatoes have been grown on 500 hectares this year.

The source notes that in recent years, the region has achieved good results annually by selecting the most suitable high-yielding, disease-resistant, and easy-to-care-for potato varieties.
