Turkmen mixed martial artist Dovletjan Yagshimuradov, ranked second in the PFL light heavyweight world rankings, will compete in the PFL NY tournament, which will take place on July 31 at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. He will face English fighter Simeon "Smooth" Powell, ranked fifth in the world rankings.
The fight will continue Yagshimuradov's active performance this season. In his last fight, which took place on April 16, 2026, at the PFL Belfast tournament at the SSE Arena in the capital of Northern Ireland, the Turkmen athlete defeated Australian Tyson Pedro by unanimous decision, scoring 29-28 on all three scorecards. In the third round, Pedro rocked Yagshimuradov with a series of punches and nearly got the fight stopped early, but the Turkmen fighter recovered, took his opponent to the ground, and maintained the advantage until the final bell.
The victory allowed Yagshimuradov to improve his record in the PFL to 4 wins and 1 loss and maintain his position at the top of the division.
Earlier, in November 2024, the Turkmen athlete won the PFL light heavyweight title by knocking out American Impa Kasanganay in 58 seconds of the first round.
