Lisbon's “Benfica” confirmed the transfer of head coach José Mourinho to “Real”. The news was announced on the Portuguese club's official page on the social media platform X.
"Real” has formally announced its intention to sign José Mourinho for 15 million euros, and the coach has agreed. Thank you, José Mourinho," the publication reads.
Media reports previously indicated that Mourinho had signed a three-year contract with “Real” and was expected to take office after the club's presidential elections. On Sunday, Florentino Pérez was re-elected as the Madrid team's president.
Last season, the "creamy" team finished without any trophies.
Mourinho previously managed “Real” from 2010 to 2013. Under his leadership, the team won the Spanish league, the Spanish Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup.
