Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council, who was visiting the country, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

During the talks, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Stewart confirmed the interest of the US business community in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan and noted the significance of last year's meeting between Serdar Berdimuhamedov and US President Donald Trump for the development of interstate relations.

The head of Turkmenistan, in turn, emphasized that Ashgabat attaches great importance to developing relations with the United States based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and trust. He also emphasized the need for regular meetings between the business communities of the two countries.

Turkmenistan's key American partners include Boeing, General Electric, John Deere, Case New Holland, and Nicklaus Design. The head of state expressed his willingness to consider new, specific proposals from American businesses.

Stewart confirmed the intention of US business circles to strengthen their position in the Turkmen market and participate in joint projects.
