In New York, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi.

The talks focused on cooperation in the energy sector, particularly the gas industry, where they discussed the further advancement of joint projects and the expansion of long-term partnerships.

Prospects for cooperation in trade, economics, innovation, technology, and culture were also discussed.

The highly effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and China within the UN was particularly emphasized. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening coordination at international forums and mutual support for the two countries' initiatives and proposals.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing close cooperation to practically implement the agreements reached and further strengthen their strategic partnership, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
